Below are some of the poems that I consider to be some of my greatest poetic works...
Poem #1: Everyone seems to not like Miley Cyrus since she cut her hair and changed her image but whats important is Miley not needing to please everyone in the world and change herself for the world--something that many celebrities have done. My poem is just about how Miley has grown into the person that she wants to be, because if she doesn't want to be who she is right now then she would obviously change.
Poem #2: This poem is very deep and is very meaningful to me. One night I was having a hard time coming to the understanding that my mom had breast cancer, so I wrote my feelings about it on a piece of paper and just let it flow out of me. After revising and editing it, I think it turned out well.
Poem #3: This was another found poem I did from one of my childhood accidents. I was able to play with this poem as well, just like the zombie one. I think that is was neat of me to put the story in a perspective of two year old me.
Poem #4: I wrote this towards the beginning of the poetry unit my class did. It made me think hard about how I actually feel about humanity because when you think about it, humanity is twisted but beautiful at the same time.
Poem #5: I miss living in Colorado deeply because that is where my parents are right now. I don't think that I should be living in Michigan and in this poem I strongly express my feelings for wanting to leave.
Poem #6: This is a found poem that I wrote from one of my free writes about zombies. I thought that the image in the background gives you a good picture of how it would look if zombies were coming towards you so that is why I chose the watermark for the background. This was just a poem that I played around with to explore found poems.
Poem #7: When I wrote this poem I was learning how to write an ode, so I decided to write an ode to something that is important to me--sleep. To me, sleeping is so much more than resting, it's dreaming and decoding your inner thoughts. I find dreams very symbolic and they are important to me.
